Empathy & Connection

Let’s talk about empathy. Empathy fuels connection, sympathy drives disconnection.

“Connections” , so important during this period when an invisible enemy has decided to separate us, to distance us, to disconnect us!

Connections are amongst the reasons that give us the strength to fight covid and it is important to remember and value those who have the strength and courage to go on and fight covid every day.

And those who have the strength and courage DESERVE empathy, from friends, family, doctors, colleagues.

Everyone must have an essential quality: being able to recognize the truth behind fragile people, being able to understand them and see things from their point of view.

In the last 20 days someone very close to me has taught me that we have to do our best to recognize the emotions of others, because it is not something to be underestimated, and once we recognized their EMOTIONS we must TELL them.

Brene Brown, in the following video on Empathy, says that empathy is a “sacred space that someone creates when they find a deep hole and feel overwhelmed by the dark and we go into this hole and tell them we know how it feels down there and they are not alone”. So I want to say to everyone challenging with covid: #youarenotalone!
